Painter HelperThis role supports all paint operations in a busy production shop and offers a clear path to grow into a full painter position. You will begin by operating a pre-blast machine to clean material before it moves to the paint area, while also assisting with loading and unloading paint and blast racks, masking, and preparing material for painting.Essential SkillsMechanically inclined with the ability to operate and learn shop equipment and tools.Minimum of 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or construction environments.Basic knowledge of painting processes and paint preparation.Experience with production work, including meeting schedules and quality standards.Ability to perform paint prep and paint preparation tasks, including masking and material handling.Familiarity with sandblasting or willingness to learn sandblasting procedures.Strong focus on safety, especially when working around heavy equipment in a large shop.Ability to work day and night shifts, including occasional Saturdays as needed.Reliability and willingness to learn new skills and grow into a trade position.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a large, non-climate-controlled production shop that houses heavy equipment, making safety a very high priority. You will be on day shift (6:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with Saturdays as needed). Will get a $2 pay bump after 3 months.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77064.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
